Philosophy

At Elva Medica, we put the individual – in their unique totality – at the heart of what we do.

There are no one-size-fits-all solutions here, no unthinking standardised treatments. Every sign and symptom is as unique as the process that triggered it, so every treatment must be unique and personal, too.
Our clinic logo is the symbol of holism, the philosophical concept based on the Greek όλος or holos (whole, entire). It is founded on the idea that a system’s properties cannot be explained in terms of its component parts alone: rather, they must always be examined in their entirety. And this is precisely our approach. We investigate all the causes behind an illness and ascribe your an overall significance in terms not just of the body as a whole but also of the mind, the emotions and the external social and physical environment.
Our helpful, reliable, highly qualified staff are here to cure you of disease; but more than that, we treat you as a physical and psychological whole – including problems and causes that traditional clinics are very often ill-placed to address.
Our aim is to enable our clients to achieve a state of overall wellness.
For your wellbeing is our top priority.

Empiric Medicine

For us, medicine is empirical and quantum, it is based on experience and considers man as more than a collection of organs and physical systems: a man who is body, soul and spirit, inseparable and interconnected. For us, the human organism is a constantly changing system, in dialogue with its environment and its inner world, capable of reacting to stimuli and finding remedies within itself. Health itself is a dynamic equilibrium, where illness is already an attempt at healing: an abscess, for example, is a way of encapsulating the infection and isolating it from the rest of the body, just as calluses protect the injured part of the epidermis and do not make people feel pain. Healing merely stimulates a reaction process that returns the individual’s life force to its natural balance.

Healthy Living

We are what we eat, breathe, feel and think. Our health depends not only on external factors, but also on our thoughts and emotions, how we eat, how much exercise we do, how many hours we sleep or the environment we live in. Living well is of paramount importance to stay healthy in body, mind and soul. This is why Elva Medica has moved from the centre of Rome to Campagnano. A leap, not only geographically, but also in quality of life, in a place immersed in nature, in silence, far from the stress and frenzy of modern life. Here harmony, serenity and clean air reign.

Slow Life

At the root of many ailments and illnesses are often stress and physical and mental fatigue resulting from a life that is always rushing and overly busy with work appointments, family obligations or study. In order to help our patients achieve a balance of body, mind and soul, we advocate the concept of slow life: an invitation to live quietly, slowing down the pace of one’s days. In this way, one regains space to devote to oneself, one’s thoughts and emotions, and is able to get more in touch with one’s body, inner self and the world around us. It is not a question of giving oneself over to idleness, but of giving one’s body and soul breathing space to cope better with life’s commitments, control time and learn to appreciate every second of the day, even the difficult moments.

Tranquillity must also be achieved in eating, abandoning fast food and embracing the concept of slow food, giving oneself time to eat slowly and to inform oneself about the quality and origin of food, selecting foods that are not bad for us and that truly nourish our bodies. Our clinic is a full supporter of organic and local food, freshly prepared and respectful of nature and the course of its seasons.
A healthy, non-industrial and not chemically or genetically processed diet is a central pivot for the psychophysical well-being of today’s man.
